  1. Design Review: Hopefully a few improvements, what do you think?

    Hi guys

    As many of the regulars on here know i popped a temporary portfolio page up about 2 months ago as i was sick of not having one!

    I have finally, hopefully, improved on the original design and expanded the scale of my portfolio by introducing a blog, other pages etc.

    I would like to know you thoughts on this version and would really love to hear your critiques and feedback, as always there is normally something you guys pick up that i miss!

    EDIT: Amended version based on comments thus far and a little experimenting

    Thanks in advance guys!

    haha love it when a client says to make the logo bigger, although today i had one that actually asked for it to be a little smaller, they did have a huge hero photo in the website though, so swings and roundabouts! I am glad you pointed out the typography as i really put an effort into the hierarchy of importance and visual appeal of the type, probably more than the imagery!

    @Johnny B
    Thank you, i didn't want it to be too, too different as the temporary (original) portfolio has only been up 7/8 weeks so i am glad you can see the similarities! Think its the background though!

    @BenGriffiths
    I wondered who would be the first to comment on that - little wishful thinking on my part ill admit haha.
    Your too kind, i am sure there are a few more lurking behind the derelict pits lol! I will have to take on a couple of students from college for work experience to bring up the numbers haha. In fact not a bad idea!
  3. You want to take young Barnsley students under your wing - your mad! They'll have everything you own and disappear before you've even said hi to them That said, I did some dev work for Deviate Design in Barnsley, they were pretty good actually.
  4. Solid design. Nicely done.
  5. @BenGriffiths
    well i will scout them out first haha, not going to offer a open house that would be silly haha, saying that i am penciled in to take a lesson at Sheffield Hallam Uni in September, don't even know the subject yet lol!

    @richbdesign
    Thanks rich, much appreciated!
  6. I have been told by my genius of a developer friend that this is getting coded very soon, so now i need some ideas for articles too, i have some already in the pipeline but i think this would be a great opportunity for you guys to let me know the kind of stuff you would want to see in a web designers blog - tutorials, examples, case studies, round up etc etc!

    Hopefully when the website goes live i will have more than 1 subscriber too haha
  7. Can't wait to see it live
  8. Thanks Kargyn

    I am excited too, getting some articles and other things ready to post, ill keep you all up to date!
